My current computer is a Inspiron 1720 laptop and I feel I've squeezed pretty much everything it can possibly hope to offer. The problem with buying a new desktop is that I wanted to wait for that next great thing.<br />
<br />
Well, a couple days ago I finally ordered a new desktop (SandyBridge) and just like that, my laptop decides to shit on me. The SandyBridge motherboard was recalled, so I'm still using my laptop for a few more weeks until they are re-released. This laptop runs as if it has 100 Trojans, with frame rates in games being dropped by roughly 80%, and all streaming videos other than Hulu unwatchable.<br />
<br />
I'm sorry laptop, but I gotta move on.<br />
<br />
Here's a picture of my cat.<br />

When the other people start making random conversation, I think "These are not my kind of people", and half-heartedly follow along.<br />
When the other people stay silent like myself, I think "These are my kind of people. I bet we would get along", and stand in silence.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-26996028154182004082011-02-27T10:40:00.000-08:002011-02-27T10:40:25.627-08:00Silly Ways to Affording Gum<div style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><strong><br />

You, as an employee, is paid for every user question that you personally research and answer. The average rate is 10 cents per question that you must research, and 5 cents per question that you simply pull out of their library of answers. Again, don’t expect any substantial income doing this, although an hour or two a night can really add up. While it’s not too difficult to become hired by these companies, you will have to be able to use Google reasonably well to find information.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">List of Q&A Search Engines:<br />

Play games for cash! I highly suggest you only try this website if you consider yourself a good gamer, however. You get paid lots of money if you achieve the highest score on their games, but most players will come away with a loss. There is an entry fee to the site, so be wary. I'll start posting entries on my analysis of different approaches.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: black; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: small; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;"><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><strong>Article Writing</strong></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The idea is simple: You write articles based on your own area of interest/expertise, and you get paid if it passes the requirements for publication. You get a flat fee for every article, plus a little extra based on how many views your article receives. These jobs revolve around<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>titles</strong>, which are not only the title of your article, but the main identifier also. These companies also have openings for editors, who basically correct and analyze article submissions. It’s much harder to become an editor, however, so I suggest just writing articles in your free time Don’t let all those hours of English class go to waste! If you don’t feel too confident about your writing ability, I don’t suggest you take this route, as there are many article that are rejected due to poor quality. If you decide to sign up, expect 8-24 hours until you are confirmed. You should spend around 30 minutes per article, and should be able to crank out 3-4 a day. I’d also like to note that many times your article will be sent back for a rewrite, and it can sometimes be frustrating to constantly have to rewrite based on your editor’s comments. You really have to get lucky with your editors, as they are assigned to you at random. $10-15 per article.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Many writers become frustrated because their editors constantly demand rewrites without clear, specific instruction. A good tip is to simply let the title expire, and then resubmit it as an entire new piece, rather than a rewrite. This way you will be assigned a new editor(hopefully a better one), and won’t have to deal with 1000 messy rewrites. One last note: If you own a website, you can create good traffic to that site by including it in your articles (make sure it’s relevant). This will also help you get indexed in Google, thus bringing even more visitors to your site.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The list of freelance writing companies:<br />
<a href="http://www.brighthub.com/" style="color: #00538a; font-weight: 800; text-decoration: none;">BrightHub</a></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.demandstudios.com/" style="color: #00538a; font-weight: 800; text-decoration: none;">DemandStudios</a><br />
Same concept as Brighthub, except they also consider filmmakers and bloggers into their rotation. A bit hard to get into, but is well reputed to pay the best. $10-15 per article.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.wisegeek.com/" style="color: #00538a; font-weight: 800; text-decoration: none;">WiseGeek</a></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.associatedcontent.com/" style="color: #00538a; font-weight: 800; text-decoration: none;">Associated Content</a></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.elance.com/" style="color: #00538a; font-weight: 800; text-decoration: none;">Elance</a></div></span></span>Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-49480623904486831182011-02-24T08:37:00.000-08:002011-02-24T08:38:13.910-08:00Flyercraft: Tips to An Effective Flyer<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: black; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: small; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #4b4b4b; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;"></span></span><br />

Either make it extra grand, or extra cheap. If you're going to put graphics on the flyer, I encourage you to invest in the extra cents to make it full color and good quality. If not, then it's usually more efficient to just go with the garage sale sign look.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 13px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 13px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">2. Keep it simple stupid. Clearly state the message you want to get across, and make sure it can be read from far away. Stay away from light colors, usually black on white/yellow or white/yellow on black works the best. Simple fonts and simple messages will make it easy to read.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 13px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 13px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">3. Have an easy contact info on it. If you have tabs on your flyer, make sure to put your contact info and your flyer's purpose on every single tab. If you are putting an email address, refrain from using overly complicated or ambiguous emails.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="mailto:JackB192882@hotmail.com" style="background-color: transparent; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #0c70cd; font-size: 1em; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 4px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 4px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-decoration: underline;">JackB192882@hotmail.com</a><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>will discourage anyone from following through.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 13px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 13px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">4. Maximize your authenticity. Testimonials, expert opinions, impressive statistics, and many other pieces of information can greatly establish your credibility. People are always inclined to dismiss something as a scam, or shady, so I suggest you put extra effort into ensuring that your flyers look legitimate.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 13px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 13px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">If you're trying to sell a product, one interesting tip I've learned is to handwrite your flyer, and then photocopy that. Not only does handwriting grab people's attention, but it also adds a personal touch that improves your credibility.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-bottom-style: none; border-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-width: initial; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 13px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 13px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">5. As usual, experiment and track how the flyers work for you and where.</div><div style="background-color: white; border-style: none; color: #4b4b4b; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: normal; margin: 13px 0px; padding: 0px;">6. Profit?</div>Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-71867606173108412892011-02-23T10:05:00.000-08:002011-02-23T10:05:46.402-08:00Keywords and NichesFor the beginner online marketer, one of the most basic and easiest tool to learn is the Google Keyword Tool. This tool allows you to input search terms, and see how many people search for it, or search for the general idea under it. This is how you find a good niche and website name to sell on. Until one gets extremely good at search engine optimization, it's all about<br />
<br />
1. Find keywords that has a decent amount of searches, but not too many so that SEO competition becomes impossible. A range of 5000-10000 is usually manageable to get ranked top of Google for, while still bringing in good amounts of visitors.<br />
<br />
2. Find keywords that have websites that aren't terribly competitive. For example, the search term "Beds for dogs" may only have 3000 global searches per month, but if the beds for dogs webhosts are randomly SEO gods, then you know to stay away. There are various methods to analyzing this.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I hate long entries, so I'll stop here. Thanks for reading.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-13052415376535436212011-02-22T10:38:00.000-08:002011-02-22T10:39:22.732-08:00Log and Experiment<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWzfWAtFYQbR9TlNuhoy4ZLRhwJHsEcvTe4s-D4hsADXRX1G5d0afzbfFDRbv-YBskxJDVi6MZuwVrp30KLpuef9vyQ4xNPubA1OE3dm5WPuFrYX31tE063kEL76G-4hdVUJRNz41KVlm/s1600/brun2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWzfWAtFYQbR9TlNuhoy4ZLRhwJHsEcvTe4s-D4hsADXRX1G5d0afzbfFDRbv-YBskxJDVi6MZuwVrp30KLpuef9vyQ4xNPubA1OE3dm5WPuFrYX31tE063kEL76G-4hdVUJRNz41KVlm/s320/brun2.jpg" width="261" /></a></div><br />
People like to say that the key is hard work. While hard work is certainly necessary for a successful venture in anything, I find there are two keys to success that many people fail to do, and thus fail overall. These two keys are: experimentation and tracking data.<br />
<br />
No matter what your endeavor, it's always important to experiment and try new approaches. Constant and consistent tweaking will take your project both forward and backwards in tiny baby steps. <br />
<br />
Then comes tracking data. With this, you can 95% ensure yourself which tweaks are taking you backwards, and which tweaks are taking you forward. Cut the bad tweaks, keep the good ones.<br />
<br />
Such common sense right? Yet when's the last time you've seen more than a couple people do this at the gym? People don't like to do these steps because they require more hard work. And so we come full circle. Also note that each practice is pretty useless without the other.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-55670258161700697132011-02-20T23:12:00.000-08:002011-02-20T23:12:56.082-08:00End of the WeekendGood night week. Next week is my birthday week. Hopefully it's a great week. It starts off with a holiday so I'm sure I will be happy.<br />
<br />
<br />
I flyered hard today. For those that are curious, I flyer for my website which links scholarships for students. Unfortunately because tomorrow is a holiday, I:'m not expecting much traffic. I should've just flyered tomorrow, but tomorrow is my bday celebration :). Will post again tomorrow, gnite.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com28tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-69904748855270197352011-02-20T09:44:00.000-08:002011-02-20T09:44:06.250-08:00SundayIt is Sunday, aka flyer day. It's been raining so hard the last few days I was worried I wouldn't be able to flyer, but alas, fate has given me a wonderfully sunny day. I got a few thousand printed up, and off we go!<br />
<br />
I tried out Minecraft last night. Spelunking is awesome, haven't even had a chance to really build anything yet.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-68240511827904145742011-02-19T12:45:00.000-08:002011-02-19T16:47:17.863-08:00All Star Le Weekend<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNW1SVL5uybtowfNM64becFbrQUtH0p-Qvgp9CXwNQD_eXVs3xCftAmWJl8YUSS1LLL8ddqLIMGzHXAV-E02f1RQC7sj7IQH42USH9CxltN-2-noRM8hZ4dRjnctYcY-3O46fvLbaMXu3V/s1600/lol.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNW1SVL5uybtowfNM64becFbrQUtH0p-Qvgp9CXwNQD_eXVs3xCftAmWJl8YUSS1LLL8ddqLIMGzHXAV-E02f1RQC7sj7IQH42USH9CxltN-2-noRM8hZ4dRjnctYcY-3O46fvLbaMXu3V/s320/lol.png" width="200" /></a></div><br />
It's the NBA All Star weekend, and it's taking place right here in LA. Despite being a huge NBA fan, I've never been into the All Star festivities. Yesterday watching the rookies vs sophomores game, I remembered why. They don't try at all. Still, this year's line up is the best it's been in many years, so I'll try to check it out tomorrow.<br />
<br />
I'm predicting Durant wins the All Star MVP award with around 20 points. The NBA is really pushing Durant to become a star, although I don't think he has the charisma necessary yet to do it. His "nice guy" act gets good press, but personally I find it a little boring.<br />
<br />
I predict a Blake Griffin victory for the dunk contest. The dunk contest has been so lame in recent years, thanks to Nate Robinson and a lack of star power. Blake Griffin is in need of a huge public push to really get his name out there to casual fans, and I'm sure they won't fuck up this chance.<br />
<br />
No marketing entry today, and I plan to sprinkle in a lot of these random posts into my blog.Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com25tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146138925943192381.post-65026261631238976082011-02-18T11:01:00.000-08:002011-02-18T11:01:26.333-08:00Campus MarketingOne of my key moneymakers is marketing on college campuses. I live around a dozen of them, so I spend my weekends flyering and passing out handouts. Here are some tips:<br />
<br />
1. Stay legal. Put your flyers in properly designated areas. This isn't because I have some great respect for the law, but because the flyer won't last 6 hours if it's somewhere it shouldn't be.<br />
<br />
2. Despite what I just said, put them all over bathrooms. Bathrooms own for grabbing people's attention.<br />
<br />
3. Try to get everything in on Sunday. That way, all the students that are coming back to campus on Monday will see your ads.<br />
<br />
I felt inclined to add some tips about making great flyers, but I'll save that for another post. Welcome to my blog. Cute girls and my thoughts on internet marketing. As a bit of background, I've done CPA Affiliate marketing for about a year now with moderate success. I am still studying SEO and other traffic generating methods heavily, and am even working on some offline marketing ideas also. I'll post my thoughts and maybe even some tips on effective online marketing. Till next time...Archon6http://www.blogger.com/profile/10036262771240489416noreply@blogger.com14
